Close Encounters

My friend Rachelle turned my attention towards this website a few days ago, and after watching the first few videos I am so terrified of my surroundings. There's a "Slenderman" horror-type story going around on youtube. The plot is that a guy's friend Alex was filming a movie called Marble Hornets, when he noticed Alex was becoming neurotic and crazed by his surroundings. He would film everything in his life, even when not filming a scene for his movie in the making, and Alex turned the tapes over to the friend due to his inability to complete the project. He asked his friend to never mention them again; Alex then moved away. Alex's friend did not know why Alex had slowly fell into a downward spiral through the filming process; however, after close investigation of the footage Alex filmed, he now understands.
The main character has been posting snippets from the movies, and they are very creepy and unsettling - many of them have Slenderman either directly haunting Alex, or subtly in the background. It's all very moody.

Honestly, these videos are one of the few that I find to be scary or even somewhat believable. Please take a look for yourself, and if you need to fast forward through the video with the sound off to see if anything pops out at you so you will be prepared for it, don't worry; no one will judge you.

There are so many more videos on the Marble Hornets website, 22 actually, and a new one is uploaded every few days. I highly urge you all to go and check out the rest of them. I try to believe that the videos are real, but if they are not, the director is a complete genius.

Sometimes I just need quiet.
