++

I'm rapidly growing tired of this thing. I am going to TUMBLE (Tumblr) for awhile because I am liking the ease with which my ideas can be set free. Join me.

sparkle sparkle shine shine

So much glitter, I almost can't handle it. If I could live my life looking like this, it would MOST DEFINITELY happen. I want to shine so badly . . . but I mean don't we all? Check of Kym Ellery designs.

Bloody Bloody Mary

I have been so tempted to try this, but I, for some reason, am incredibly hesitant. Ghosts and spirits don't scare me, but the thought of having my body covered in scratches is not too appealing. I say you give it a shot . . .

She lived deep in the forest in a tiny cottage and sold herbal remedies for a living. Folks living in the town nearby called her Bloody Mary, and said she was a witch. None dared cross the old crone for fear that their cows would go dry, their food-stores rot away before winter, their children take sick of fever, or any number of terrible things that an angry witch could do to her neighbors.

Then the little girls in the village began to disappear, one by one. No one could find out where they had gone. Grief-stricken families searched the woods, the local buildings, and all the houses and barns, but there was no sign of the missing girls. A few brave souls even went to Bloody Mary's home in the woods to see if the witch had taken the girls, but she denied any knowledge of the disappearances. Still, it was noted that her haggard appearance had changed. She looked younger, more attractive. The neighbors were suspicious, but they could find no proof that the witch had taken their young ones.

Then came the night when the daughter of the miller rose from her bed and walked outside, following an enchanted sound no one else could hear. The miller's wife had a toothache and was sitting up in the kitchen treating the tooth with an herbal remedy when her daughter left the house. She screamed for her husband and followed the girl out of the door. The miller came running in his nightshirt. Together, they tried to restrain the girl, but she kept breaking away from them and heading out of town.

The desperate cries of the miller and his wife woke the neighbors. They came to assist the frantic couple. Suddenly, a sharp-eyed farmer gave a shout and pointed towards a strange light at the edge of the woods. A few townsmen followed him out into the field and saw Bloody Mary standing beside a large oak tree, holding a magic wand that was pointed towards the miller's house. She was glowing with an unearthly light as she set her evil spell upon the miller's daughter.

The townsmen grabbed their guns and their pitchforks and ran toward the witch. When she heard the commotion, Bloody Mary broke off her spell and fled back into the woods. The far-sighted farmer had loaded his gun with silver bullets in case the witch ever came after his daughter. Now he took aim and shot at her. The bullet hit Bloody Mary in the hip and she fell to the ground. The angry townsmen leapt upon her and carried her back into the field, where they built a huge bonfire and burned her at the stake.

As she burned, Bloody Mary screamed a curse at the villagers. If anyone mentioned her name aloud before a mirror, she would send her spirit to revenge herself upon them for her terrible death. When she was dead, the villagers went to the house in the wood and found the unmarked graves of the little girls the evil witch had murdered. She had used their blood to make her young again.

From that day to this, anyone foolish enough to chant Bloody Mary's name three times before a darkened mirror will summon the vengeful spirit of the witch. It is said that she will tear their bodies to pieces and rip their souls from their mutilated bodies. The souls of these unfortunate ones will burn in torment as Bloody Mary once was burned, and they will be trapped forever in the mirror.

I say it's worth it, I mean what are the chances of having your soul ripped from your body? Psh.

the scarlet starlet and she's in my bed

Manhattan School of Music ended last Saturday for the 2009-2010 school year. It was incredibly sad, but I was ready to be done after having gone there for so many years. Francesca and I decided to spend our day not going to class, and instead walking around NYC, buying up mad amounts of stuff, and eating amazing food from Hummus Place. It was a fun end to a fun year of singing and I am glad we got to remember it through Francesca's amazing Canon. Love you xx.

i'm the elephant in the room

++

I've been feeling rather annoyed these past few days, mostly because I have had trouble finding any sort of inspiration in my life. I'm sorry for the droll and rather un-enthused posts, but all I see right now are pictures, not explanations or words or any of that bullshit. This is what my day has been devoted to so far, my tumblr. Pictures just seem to describe everything so much better right now.

there once was a man who really loved salt/so he tied his nose to the sea

He's just beautiful. Everything one needs.

We all know that the wind blows and the moon glows and our lungs grow
We belong to the floating hand that's made by some animals
And we all dance so we can let go and move close and trade lows
Like the type of tongue that roots from your breast
And it shakes your pretty, little clavicle

A good friend is walking to a homeland, an inside land
And to him I said, 'You can leave your eyes at the horizon's dead door
Cuz you won't need them anymore'

The children spins dawn in and the morning disappearing
They reappeared as a seed of love
You know the earth births the vegetables

tradition

Yet another bracelet from my Grandmother. She gave me this one for my 18th birthday and told me that she used to wear it as a little girl. It was a gift to her from a young man who she met in Egypt and spent some time with before she met my grandfather. The story behind the jewelry is what really makes it. Thanks Gram, I love you.

I love my wittle sister Sophia and all the random crazy jewelry she decides to give me. Oh, and I am officially a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music. This is also why I was unable to do anything on my blog today -- I was kinda out and about performing in a show and going through a super long graduation ceremony where I was given a water bottle and Snickers. Yee haw.

do a little dance

I hear so many of my friends talking about prom and what they are deciding on wearing. I'm not really a fan of the traditional poofy, satin dresses, so I decided to show you all what I consider to be perfect prom dresses. I love subdued colors and intricate detail, though some of these dresses stray from those descriptions. While all of these dresses are beautiful in some way, my favorite would have to be the Gold Starry Maxi Dress from the Thornburg Collection. These dresses aren't just for prom either! They can be worn to any event that requires more formal attire, such as a graduation party or dinner at a nice restaurant. So kewl.

Today's been shaping up to be a pretty psychedelic day. Got on some turquoise jewelry and my jeans that are ripping down the crotch that I should probably consider patching up sometime soon. It's finally nice outside for like the first time in ages which means that I am going to be outside, on my computer of course, for a large portion of the afternoon. Sweet deal. Oh, and there is actually good food at my house right now; tea, hummus, carrots, and sorbet. MmmMMMMmmmMMMmMmMMmMmMmMmmm.

It's really hard to try to do well when I have nothing to strive for. I guess my prime example for this is school, because I spend way too much fucking time there. There's like 30 days left of this shit, and I am surprised that I still even bring a backpack to school with me anymore. I haven't had homework for the past three weeks; I haven't payed attention in class for the past 2 months; I haven't attempted to care for the entire year. It's so horrible though, because knowing that the next month and a half doesn't count has caused me to completely give up in everything that I used to want to do well in. Every night, I find myself wondering if I should go on my computer, or read a book . . . and I always choose going on my computer. This attitude really shows a lot about my nature, and the nature of practically every other teenager who's going through something that is about to reach it's ending point. We try only when we know that we may get a reward, some sort of recognition, if we truly love what we are doing or if we are dealing with a life or death situation. Shouldn't we always want to do our best? Yes. Is that the case? No. FUCK NO.

Red Wine/Success!

He pours the wine into his coffee cup
His gin has dropped
It's time to pick it up
Too fed, he rose out of his bus and left
Tearin' slow he's barkin' something crass

Each night a thousand stairs go up both ways
So incur the bee get through his sleeves
Elms down at the coast it's too late for Buster's ride
Slide down to his headphones
Sleeps till sallow mind

Wow, I actually just want to get the fuck out of here. My dad thinks nothing is as good as it seems; always has to look for the negative side of everything, and has no faith in people. I never thought that anyone could be so cynical. It's not like I don't want to see his side in everything, it's just that he always has to be right and whenever I get excited about something "pointless," he thinks that it's appropriate to tell me that it's probably not as good as it seems. I just love having my happiness and thoughts for the future kicked, crushed and blown up . . . over, and over and over again.

hurrah

I want YOU to go do something good for someone today.

sheer bliss

This company, Bliss Lau, creates all of the really intricate and medieval jewelry that you see above. There are pieces that can be draped across one's body, be worn on the hand, and even ones legs. I love how simply beautiful all of this is, and each piece, though expensive, can be worn over almost anything and give it a totally different feel. Just the thought of chains is rather seductive, and the thin steel/gold/bronze tone of them is ub3r c00l. I highly suggest that you all go on the website and look at the other items that Bliss Lau sells, because this collage most definitely does not do the creations justice.

love line

This is my friend Holly's (Broth's) outlook on the qualities that every girl should look for in a guy. They are not in any order, so no, she is not shallow and decided to put looks as the first one. I mean we all need a little guidance with all these poser freaks, meat heads, and just overall douchey fucks roaming around.

1. LOOKS - don't judge. . . I'm not overly superficial, and I will take personality over appearance any day, but come on. You will NOT like a fat, sweaty, awkward boy even though he may be the coolest person ever. You have to be physically attracted to them too.

2. MANLY MEN - kind of like the old spice commercial, and I'm not talking about a buff guy who's interests range from hunting to football, I'm talking about a guy who doesn't act like a girl, who likes to take charge of situations, pays for you when you go out, doesn't know much about clothes, shoes, or nail polish, doesn't take things too personally like a girl, etc. ex. a manly guy who plays the piano for you is hot. A girly guy who plays the piano for you is lame, and you standing there watching him play is slightly uncomfortable. Unless you like those guys who blatantly freak out when something happens (lyke OMG) or moves his hips better than a black girl does.

3. SAME SENSE OF HUMOR - I will never never like a guy who doesn't think I'm funny. Because lets be serious now, I'm hilarious. Just kidding. However, I am immature and overly sarcastic, and I laugh at things most people don't laugh at. If you aren't funny or amusing, I might still like you, but not be completely interested.

4. INTERESTING - I cannot tell you how many guys I have known over the years that are adorable, smart, funny, and we have a lot in common, but that has no depth to him. I like guys who I can learn from, who has had life experiences; a guy who I can talk to for hours and never get bored, just because he is so goddamn interesting and easy to talk to.

5. MORALS - I will never possibly be able to like a guy who doesn't have some moral standards. I don't really care if you smoke, drink, get high, stay fly, do whatever. BUT if you are genuinely not a nice person, I will most likely not give you the time of day. I think its more admirable to be a good person than a badass (no matter how hot that badass might be) because in the long run, do you want a boyfriend that lies and treats other people like shit? Nahhh man.

She runs shit. Naw-meen?

she's got no taste, hand on his waist

MKO, why are you so perfect and have everything that I wish I could have? Oh yeah, I forgot, you're a fucking billionaire who has the best taste in well, everything. Fuzzy jackets and leather pants are so hot.

Go away now, let me go,
Are you stupid? Or just a little slow?
Go away now I've made myself clear,
Nah it's not gonna happen,
Not in a a million years.

gnarlitude

life in motion

My Thoughts on Life:

1. Everyone is out for themselves: It does not matter who you are, where you come from, how you were brought up, or how good of a soul shaker you are. It is in our nature to want to get ahead, and do whatever it takes in the process. So don't let that shy kid in the corner who acts as though he wants the best for everyone fool you. Yeah, maybe he does want you to do well, but if it came down to survival, he would eat the last fish off the island to live a little bit longer than you, (and yes, that whole fish thing can be compared to winning a game/contest/prize, being the top of the class and taking that guy that you've been eyeing for months now.)

2. Nothing really matters all that much: No, it does not. I mean, we live for like 80 years tops (unless you're some kind of lucky monster), and those 80 years should be spent happily. I am so sick of caring about things that I can't control. I am kind of free from all of that now, because school is almost over and I will have four more years to explore myself in cool-idge. I waste my time on people and things that don't matter hoping that I can change them or become a part of something that I have never done before. But I'm so over that, and you should be too. Stop trying to be what you're not. No, but seriously, stop. You will never be who you strive to be, so just do your own thing -- yes, I know you have heard this before, but I just realized how true this is last week.

3. Don't ask people what they think about something if it is weird or out of the ordinary, and if you don't want a negative response: If you think something is cool, do it. Don't ask people what they think about it because, chances are, unless you are similar to them, they will not like what you are going to do, because they are not you! Everyone likes different things, so something that you love/want to do, like dye your white canvas sneakers fluorescent blue, should be done no matter what other people tell you.

4. Stop fishing for compliments: By saying you're gross and ugly and stupid, you're actually just asking for us all to be like, "Omg, no you're not, you're like so hot. Like totally." Just stop.

5. Nobody ever said it was good to be too honest or open about how you feel: Some things just don't need to be said because they hurt other people's feelings. You may be asking why I say this, but there are people who don't know when to keep what they want to say inside. I have a friend who does this exact thing; she always tells me exactly how she feels about everyone and then when it comes down to me, what she tells me actually makes me feel bad about myself, and I hate it. I hate it so much. I know that it's just the way she is, but it may still take some time for her to understand that it is not okay to live in the past, and that you really CAN'T always tell people what's on your mind, as sad as that may make you.

6. Anyone can live on water and hummus.

7. Earrings are good . . . all the time.

8. You should dress up once in awhile, it just makes everything funner.

9. Being smart does not equal being lame.

10. Whoever said that bowl cuts are bad should be kicked off the planet.
